About Bon
I always end up paraphrasing my story as to me it seems so long, but I know that it is important that you know what drives me as a 'Fathlete', so I shall be nice and tell it all.
I should start by saying that I have been overweight my entire adult life. I wasn't overweight as a child - in fact the opposite. I was always slender. I was however always rubbish at sport. I was the child more likely to be hit by the hockey ball than to hit it. In my early 20s I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS can cause weight gain due to hormonal imbalances. Throughout my 20s and 30s I dieted. I tried every diet known to man. From drinking potions, to starvation, I cannot name a diet that I have not tried. By the end of almost 2 decades of dieting, I ended up fatter. My story is a little more than a battle with my weight though.
It seems very fitting that I am sat here today (24th May 2016) writing this page for the website, because 7 years ago tomorrow, the journey that has landed me here began.
7 years ago, in a nutshell, I suffered steam burns to my face, neck and airways.
